talk to us! we are happy to share our expertise. gallery - click images to see a large picture projects project: palmerston road project info palmerston road project a two storey over basement mews. in-situ reinforced concrete basement with masonry superstructure clad with granite / zinc / cedar. an extremely tight site and a design that combined traditional elements with more contemporary detail- the end result was a stunning mews house which provided the client with seperate living accomodation from the main house as well gymnasium and a cinema room as well as more formal garden landscaping. points of note: glass to glass corner details. random granite wall brought to course every 450mm to achieve horizontal course lines. project: the exchequer gastropub project info this project involved the refurbishment and refit of an existing restaurant, to achieve one of the most unique dining and drinking experiences in the city, floating booths, polished concrete bars, mild steel bars and a ceiling that has been described as a whale skeleton or a boat structure combine to makw this a very unique fit-out. from start to finish including design work the first customer was served after less than seven weeks. it has since become one of the most popular eating and drinking venues in the city thanks in no small part to the quality of the design and the execution of same by cunney construction ltd. features of note: unique laser cut exo-skeletal ceiling, polished concrete bar that swoops into the floor and becomes part of the floor finish, bespoke mild steel bottle holders, floating booth in mild steel, bespoke glass steel and teak bar, scuplted ceiling to rear bar. project: alma road project info this project involved the restoration and extension of an existing 19th century semidetached dwelling. works included increasing the floor to ceiling height of the cellar - which included underpinning the existing cellar walls to a depth of 1.2m, damproofing work, new underfloor heating system, new lighting and heating system, restoration of existing lime plaster walls including repairs to decorative plaster mouldings and centrepieces, demolition of existing walls to form large openings to rear and formal landscaping works to rear garden. points of note: lime plaster restoration, decorative plaster restoration, decorative woodwork restoration, underfloor heating, formal landscaping project: druidswood kiliney project info this project involved the demolition of an existing split level bungalow on a sloping site, and the construction of two seperate dwellings on the same site. the first house is a relatively simply cube house - using simple construction techniques (masonry walls, with a coloured render, paraphet with zinc capping and a standing seam zinc roof). the second house has an insitu concrete basement with a masonry superstructure clad with cedar and coloured render under a zinc roof. due to the sloping site a large concrete retaining wall forms a terrace to a achieve relatively flat gardens - this retaining wall was clad with random granite brought to course at 450mm centres which gives the wall its horizontal lines. internally the houses are fitted out to a high standard with generous floor to ceiling heigths, underfloor heating, lutron lighting system, triple glazing and quality floor finishes including stone and engineered wide plank oak. project: kennilworth square project info this project involved the restoration of an existing late 19th century townhouse - using traditional methods including lime plastering and restoration of existing decorative fibrous plaster mouldings and centrepieces - under the watchful eye of a conservation officer. as well as remedial structural works to walls, floors and chimneys. also the construction of a new rear extension in steel, glass and zinc - incorporating underfloor heating new sound and lighting system and glass stairs and landing area. wall and floor finishes throughout were replaced, existing windows were refurbished or replaced, and the new heating, entertainment and lighting system was extended throughout the house. the project also involved susbstanital demolition including new openings and the demolition of the existing rear annex at ground floor level while the 1st floor of same was retained!
